From Within: Mind, Health & Beauty for the Modern Woman - POSTPONED

About the event

Update:

The session “From Within: Mind, Health & Beauty for the Modern Woman” with Dr. Keira Barr has been postponed to a later date.

We look forward to hosting this important conversation soon and will announce the new date in due course. Thank you for your understanding.

A Different Conversation About Beauty

We spend our days examining what is visible — in our work, in our relationships, even in the mirror.

But how often do we pause to consider how visibility shapes us?

For many capable, high-functioning women, appearance is not about vanity. It is about presence. Credibility. Readiness. We learn early to manage how we are perceived — to look composed, to stay productive, to carry on.

What we rarely examine is the quiet cost of that vigilance.

Stress. Emotional load. Nervous system strain. These do not only affect how we feel — they subtly influence how we experience ourselves, and often how we are seen.

This Women’s Day, we open a thoughtful, structured conversation about beauty — not as something to fix or perfect, but as something shaped by how we live inside our bodies.

What This Session Offers

In this 2-hour live program, you will:

• Understand how stress physiology and emotional load influence skin, expression, and self-perception
• Recognize why surface-level solutions often fail to bring lasting ease
• Learn practical shifts that help you feel more settled and confident — without changing anything externally
• Explore how oral health, speech, expression, and connection quietly shape identity and presence

This is not a cosmetic discussion.

It is a conversation about awareness, identity, and the relationship between body and self.

A Dual-Lens Conversation

Dr. Keira Barr, dermatologist and founder of Somatic Skin Science, will explore the inner experience of beauty through the lens of nervous system science and lived experience.

Dr. Mandana Donoghue will extend the conversation into another dimension we rarely name: how the mouth — how we speak, smile, eat, and express affection — plays a central role in identity, connection, and self-worth.

Together, this dialogue bridges science, lived experience, and practical reflection.

Who This Is For

This session is open to women of all backgrounds.

No prior medical knowledge is required.

It is particularly relevant for women who:

• Carry responsibility — professionally or personally
• Want insight, not surface advice
• Value reflection grounded in science
• Seek confidence that feels internal, not performative

What You Will Leave With

By the end of this session, you will not simply “see beauty differently.”

You will understand how to experience it differently.

With clarity.
With language.
With practical awareness you can apply immediately.

Not transformation.

Intention.

The Inner Experience of Beauty

We examine what is visible every day — in ourselves and in others. Yet we rarely pause to consider how that visibility shapes our internal experience. For many women, appearance becomes intertwined with responsibility, professionalism, and identity. Over time, this quiet vigilance can influence not only how we look — but how we feel inside our bodies. In this session, Dr. Keira Barr explores beauty through the lens of nervous system science and lived experience. She examines how stress physiology, emotional load, and chronic self-monitoring shape skin, expression, and self-perception — often without our conscious awareness. This is not a conversation about fixing flaws. It is about understanding the deeper patterns that influence how we experience ourselves — and how to create a more settled, supported relationship with the body you already inhabit. Participants will gain: • A clear understanding of how stress physiology influences appearance • Insight into the difference between surface solutions and systemic shifts • Practical tools to reduce internal vigilance and increase ease • Language to reframe beauty as embodied experience rather than performance

8:00 pm - 8:15 pm

The Mouth: Identity, Connection & Worth

How we speak. How we smile. How we eat. How we express affection. The mouth is not cosmetic. It is relational. In this focused extension of the conversation, Dr. Mandana Donoghue explores how oral health and expression shape identity, confidence, and social presence. Small daily acts of care — often already part of our routine — can become intentional practices that reinforce self-worth from within. This segment bridges clinical understanding with lived identity.

8:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Interactive Discussion & Breakout Conversations

An open, structured discussion space where participants can reflect, ask questions, and explore how these themes apply to their own lives and professional roles. Because insight deepens through dialogue.
