Five minutes. One idea. Your voice.
The Open Mic 360 Contest 2026 invites undergraduate students, postgraduate students, interns, faculty members and practitioners to share an idea, experience, case, concern or message that matters in oral and maxillofacial healthcare.
No formal abstract is required. Submit a proposed title, tell us briefly what you plan to speak about, and prepare a focused five-minute presentation.
The contest will be conducted live online on Zoom in three separate categories from 17–19 August 2026.
Entries close on 10 August 2026.

Faculty & Practitioner Category
17 August 2026
For faculty members, private practitioners, researchers and other professionals.
Postgraduate & Intern Category
18 August 2026
For postgraduate students, residents and interns training in oral or maxillofacial healthcare.
Undergraduate Category
19 August 2026
For undergraduate students currently enrolled in an oral or maxillofacial healthcare programme.

How it works
1. Choose your category
Select the category that applies to your current status.
2. Submit your idea
Enter your proposed title and add a brief description of what you plan to speak about. No formal abstract is required.
3. Get your Zoom link
Use the Zoom link provided in the form to receive your personal joining link for the live competition.
4. Prepare your five-minute presentation
Follow the contest rules and be ready to present during your allotted slot.
Presentation slots will be announced during the week before the contest by email and on the website under the 360 Anniversary Celebration section.

Contest rules
Eligibility
Participants must enter only the category applicable to their status on the date of the competition.Presentation topic
Presentations may focus on an idea, experience, case, concern or message relevant to oral and maxillofacial healthcare. Promotional or commercial presentations are not permitted.Entry submission
Participants must submit a proposed title and a brief description of their presentation through the appropriate category form. A formal abstract is not required.Presentation duration
Each presentation must be completed within five minutes. Participants may be stopped when the allotted time ends.Presentation format
Presentations will be delivered live online through Zoom. Slides may be used but are not compulsory.Originality and permissions
Participants are responsible for ensuring that their presentation is original and that any images, clinical material or other content used may be shared legally and ethically. Patient-identifying information must not be included.Presentation slot
Each participant will be allotted a presentation slot. Slot details will be sent by email and published on the website during the week before the competition.Joining the session
Participants must join Zoom at least 15 minutes before their allotted session and use the same name submitted in the entry form.Technical readiness
Participants are responsible for having a stable internet connection, functioning microphone and any slides or other materials ready before their turn.Attendance and late arrival
Participants who are absent when called, join late or are unable to present because of unresolved technical difficulties may forfeit their slot.Judging and results
Presentations will be assessed by an invited judging panel. The judges’ and organisers’ decisions will be final.Certificates
Participation certificates will be issued only to contestants who deliver their presentation during the live competition. The top three participants in each category will receive Certificates of Achievement.Final competition
A final round may be conducted during the 360 Anniversary Celebration Week if required. Selected participants will be informed separately.Programme changes and minimum participation
The conduct of each category is subject to receiving a sufficient number of eligible entries to ensure a meaningful and fair competition. The organisers reserve the right to cancel a category, combine scheduled sessions or modify the competition format where necessary. Any changes will be communicated to registered participants in advance.
