Recognising and Managing Stress and Burnout in Health Professionals is a practical online course designed to help healthcare students and professionals better recognise stress, understand burnout, identify warning signs, and consider effective ways of responding.
Stress is common in healthcare practice, but when it becomes persistent or poorly managed, it can affect wellbeing, professional performance, relationships, and quality of care. Burnout may develop gradually and is not always recognised early. This course focuses on practical understanding rather than theory alone.
The session will cover:
- How to identify stress
- How to understand burnout
- Common warning signs
- Practical techniques for managing stress and burnout
- Applying these principles within healthcare practice
The course is led by Dr Sandip H Shah, Professor and Head of the Department of Psychiatry at GMERS Medical College, Gotri, Vadodara. He has over three decades of professional experience in psychiatry, with expertise in community mental health, school mental health, research, evidence-based medicine, and other areas of mental health.
The course is suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students, recent graduates, dentists, medical professionals, academicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
