The course will be conducted live, and enrolled participants will have access to the recording for at least one month after the session.
Stress is a familiar part of healthcare practice, but when it becomes persistent, overwhelming, or poorly managed, it can affect professional wellbeing, performance, relationships, and quality of care. Burnout may develop gradually and is not always recognised early—either by the individual experiencing it or by those around them.
Recognising and Managing Stress and Burnout in Health Professionals is a practical session designed to help healthcare students and professionals identify stress, understand burnout, recognise warning signs, and consider effective ways of responding.
The course will focus on three core areas identified by Dr Sandip H Shah: how to identify stress, how to understand burnout, and techniques for dealing with it. His background in psychiatry includes more than three decades of professional experience, with expertise spanning community mental health, school mental health, research, evidence-based medicine, and other areas of mental health.
The session is intended to be relevant across disciplines and career stages, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, recent graduates, specialists, academicians, dentists, and other healthcare professionals.
